The young Mozart composed three settings of the "Regina Coeli", an ancient Latin Marian hymn of the Catholic church.

Mozart composed the “Regina coeli” K.276 (321b) in Salzburg after his return from Paris. Although the autograph is lost, and the date of origin and destination of the work are unknown, the similarity of the “Regina coeli” with the first movement of the Vespers K.321 suggests that it too was composed in 1779.
