From the moment of its inception Dvorák’s “ New World ” Symphony has figured among the most popular works of the symphonic repertoire. Now the leading concert organist Zsigmond Szathmáry (b. 1939) has reworked its musical substance into a new piece that exploits the full potential of the organ. The result is virtuoso organ music that will challenge organists and delight audiences – or, to quote a recent critic, presents “choral dimensions of matchless artistry”.
