In the 19th century, many beloved and famous compositions were being adapted or edited.
This was a welcome change for musicians, as it gave them the opportunity to perform these scores in smaller sets. In this tradition a new contemporary edition for two flutes, by Elisabeth Weinzierl and Edmund Wächter, is now available. Selected pieces such as the melodies from Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”, Weber’s “Freischütz”, Bellini’s “Il Pirato” and “Norma”, Chopin’s “Funeral March”, Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor”, Verdi’s “La Traviata” as well as songs by Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn are made accessible even to the less experienced musician.
