The present edition is the first complete printed edition of Three Compositions for Violin and Piano Op.19, of which only the Spring Song and Lullaby have appeared in print before (New York, 1911).

The majority of compositions by Jaroslav Kocian (1883-1950) - an internationally known violin virtuoso and a distinguished teacher who trained a whole generation of Czech violin players - were written for violin. Due to their brilliant character, the pieces can serve as suitable encores to round out the concert recitals.

This edition was published jointly between Editio Barenreiter Praha and the Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition in Usti nad Orlici.<br>
