Petr Eben (1929 - 2007) completed his oratorio Apologia Sokratus to Greek texts of Plato in 1967. Thirty years later the American organist Philip Brunelle, with permission from the composer, worked out an organ accompaniment to the composition's epilogue. The closing apotheosis for chorus to the text 'For a good man there is no evil either during his life or after his death', interwoven with a beautiful chorale Alleluia sung by a children's choir, may thus live an independent concert life.
