The basic theme for this collection is the folk songs of English, Irish and Scottish origin.  Sometimes quoting extensively from the original tune, and sometimes allowing the composition to develop its own thematic material, Michal Hromek’s “Insular Duets” offers a new perspective on familiar themes.<br>

The compositions are intended for two classical guitars, however, the use of metal strings with one or both instruments should not be ruled out.<br>
