Suk's instrumentation of Ella-polka originally conceived for piano, originates from the last months of the composer's life and was written for a small string orchestra with triangle.<br>

The polka was dedicated to the painter Max Svabinsky and named after his wife.  Score and parts of Suk's adaptation were edited by Miroslav Novy on the basis of composer's autograph.  Ella-polka is being published in this form for the first time ever.<br>
