These Six Little Suites have been drawn from a collection of easily playable compositions published in 1730 by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689–1755) as his Opus 27. The suites are of a high artistic quality despite the simplicity of their technical requirements and compositional style. The types of movements and their order are constantly varied. Each suite ends with a different dance form which encloses a contrasting central part.<br>
