Like almost all composer-virtuoso players of this time, Carl Stamitz (1745-1801) also, besides duets for his own use, wrote easy duets for amateurs.  His Op.27 that was published in 1780 “chez Schott á Mayence” contains six duets of quite particular melodic charm and finely articulated rhythm.<br>

Their limited technical demands make them particularly suitable as an introduction to the Viennese classics for student flautists and violinists and will be welcomed by home music-makers.<br>
